Farmer's markets are in vogue right now and for all the right reasons: healthy produce and flowers. Many people are moving towards organic food, and farmer's markets today tend to hit the spot in this area. What about Sydney? Where can you find top quality farmer's markets right here in Sydney?
There is a quality market stand at Darlinghurst on a Saturday morning, right across the road from Taylor Square heading towards St Vincent's Hospital. The food isn't always well presented but it is fresh and the prices are fairly reasonable for quality organic food with friendly service to boot.
Furthermore, the Leichhardt Farmer's Market held at Orange Grove Public School at Lilyfield on the weekends has more choice; yet the quality of the fruit and vegetables is just as great as what you can find right near Taylor's Square at Darlinghurst.
Now over to you. Where have you discovered a high quality farmer's market here in Sydney? And why is this market so incredible? Let's discuss. Looking forward to your input on this one.

Glenorie Growers' Market is a hidden gem. It is smaller than the big city markets, but what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in charm and friendliness. They source as much local produce as possible, including amazing Black Angus beef from Cattai and free-range pork from Arcadia, organic fruit and vegetables from Dural, handmade chocolates from Grose Vale, Buffalo meat and Buffalo milk cheese and gelato and and wine from Ebenezer. Many more gourmet treats are available too, including beautiful gingerbread, honey, jams and condiments, olives, oils and artisan breads. 4th Sunday of each month (exc Dec & Jan) 8.00am-1.00pm www.glenoriegrowers.com.au
Hands down Everleigh Markets in Darlington on a Saturday. The produce which is mostly organic and free-range, is so vibrant, you almost feel healthier just looking at them. The prices are also more reasonable than the pallid selections you would get at the local supermarket and you are supporting our farmers and producers to keep growing these amazing heirloom varieties. Some of the farmers are real characters and you can end up having a great chat and finding new ways to cook something. If you are feeling peckish their are great food options to nibble on like the Billy Kwong stall producing fabulous dumplings and steamed buns and you can also grab your weekend paper, some gorgeous flowers and get your knife sharpened all at the same time.
Hi everyone i live at Ramsgate Beach Sydney, and we have the best Organic Farmers Market. The market is on every Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm and is held at Ramsgate Public School. The variety of produce is great from Organic Artisan Breads to fresh Fruit and Veg to Local Organic Dairy and much more, Its worth the trip.
Narrabean on a Friday 9am - 3pm - the veg and fruit are as fresh as anything as this market is the first stop for many of the out of town farmers - like the cherry and apple man from Orange, and they also have growers of unusual veg, such as the lady selling black beans and white eggplant.
The other goodie on the Northern Beaches is the Organic Market at Frenchs Forest on a Sunday, especially veg, but also for great bread and puddings such as lemon meringue.
There is a farmers market in Redfern, a short walk from the train station, its in Eveleigh carriageworks, 8am - 1pm Saturdays, its worth a go and they have a honey lady, and I love honey!!!!! Ive also seen a lot of different coloured potatos and different things. Christine.
