Experience the holiday season with your favourite animals at Sydney Zoo during their month-long Christmas celebration that will dazzle young and old. You’ll find plenty of themed areas in this magical wonderland of festive lights and breathtaking displays, amongst entertainment.


Upon entry, the giant doors will swing open and a toy soldier guard of honour will greet you, followed by the jolly man in red welcoming you as your journey begins through interactive indoor and outdoor spaces.

Activities will keep the young ones busy in a number of areas. The Elf Craft Village will have kids unleashing their inner artist in an elves workshop, whilst a wander into Candyland sees the creativity continue to run wild with the opportunity to decorate your own Christmas gingerbread as you indulge your sweet tooth. The Grinch is on hand for a meet and greet and, as you step into his world, you can get crafty through decorating your own pair of custom antlers.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without music and the singing animatronic reindeer (great for a selfie) will captivate you in Rudolph’s Barn in a heart-warming experience that will have you humming your favourite Christmas tunes all day. Mrs Claus’ Story Telling Corner will also capture young hearts with Christmas carols and stories.

It might be summer in Australia but a wintry Northern Hemisphere Christmas is not forgotten here and Magical Snowland provides snow, snow and more snow, along with inflatable castles and a penguin mountain climb for you to zip down the snow slide into an enormous foam pit below. Over at the roller rink, swap your shoes for skates and have some frolicking fun gliding around with family and friends.


A carnival area includes a ferris wheel and games, and delicious food and drink options to satisfy your cravings (including everything from light snacks to heartier offerings).

Roving Christmas characters will be spreading cheer and joy throughout the zoo, whilst a professional photographer will capture your visit in a sitting with Santa in his enchanted forest where each child will receive a free gift. A professional photographic option is also available with The Grinch.


Sessions for this event are 3hrs in length with 3 time slots to choose from -

9am-1pm
2pm-5pm
6pm-9pm (limited dates)

The cost is $44.99 per adult (16yrs & over), $34.99 for concession card holders and $29.99 per child (3-15yrs), with infants (0-2yrs) free. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster . All activities are included, with the exception of carnival games.
