Established by the and Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) organisation, the Conservation Fund (SWWCF) helps maintain a protected environment in which our native and endangered species can flourish.

The Conservation Fund aids with the acquisition of land, the removal of feral animals that threaten native and endangered Australian species and with important research that enables us to understand how to better care for and protect our wildlife for the future generations to enjoy.

At , you can view some of the animals protected by the fund, such as the Australian Greater Bilby, which often becomes the prey of foxes and feral cats, whose arrival in Australia threatens the Bilby's existence.

has also become the protective home of the Gouldian Finch, a rare and beautiful multicoloured bird whose numbers lately have plummeted to dangerous proportions.

Situated in the heart of Darling Harbour, the is also a haven for many other Australian animals too and has become one of Australia's largest extravaganzas of Australian Flora and Fauna.

features 9 carefully designed habitats, with over 6000 Australian animals within, an adventure of mass proportions that one could otherwise only have if one traveled around Australia for 6 months – all in the one place!

In these highly sophisticated ecosystems, you can meet Australia's Rock Wallabies, Crocodiles and Koalas. Why not stay a while with the Butterflies, one of Australia's oldest native animals dating back over 50 million years.

Housed in a lovely two story butterfly habitat at , the Butterflies float and fly around their delightful tropical rainforrest oasis, creating a spectacular scene for all who come to watch.

Starting out as a Caterpillar, the Butterfly transforms itself into on of nature's miracles. Delicate creatures, the Butterfly excels in humid temperatures around 30 degrees and feed on the nectar of flowers, so you will find them surrounded by a variety of colourful Flora in their habitat.

Butterfly's have special vision to see colours naked to the human eye that enable them to choose the right flowers for food, as well as the right plants to lay their caterpillar eggs, so that their babies get the right leaves to eat when they are born.

Did you know that Australia has approximately 416 different Butterfly species? Did you know that there was an Australian Butterfly named 'Ulysses', or that one of the largest Butterflies lives in the top of Australia and boasts a wingspan of 16 centimetres – now that is big!

A little less tame, is 'Rex' one of 's major attractions, who sometimes enjoys relaxing by the water, but don't go swimming with 'Rex', he just might think you are there for lunch!

'Rex' is housed in Sydney Wildlife Reserves new 'Kakadu Gorge' habitat, which has been carefully reconstructed from natural elements from the real 'Kakadu Gorge' area in far north Queensland.

Why not visit the 'Koala Rooftop', where you and your friends, or family can have your photo taken with one of Australia's most famous creatures, the Australian native Koala. A cute marsupial, the Koala can be patted, but just be aware, they also have very sharp claws.

Did you know that Australia is home to one of the World's most dangerous birds? -the southern Cassowary, looks straight out of the Dinosaur era. Did you also know that one of Australia's largest reptiles is the known as the 'Scrub Python'? – Yup we have Pythons in Australia!

is in the perfect location, so there is no excuse for missing out. It is in the centre of Sydney and close to some of Sydney's other fantastic locations, such as the IMAX Theatre, Sydney Aquarium and Sydney's famous Museums.

Fully accessibly, has wheelchair access and a place for changing babies, though be aware that there is no place to leave, or hire prams. Open every day from 9am to 10pm, accept major holidays when closing at 6pm, last ticket sales are 1 hour before closing.

Family ticket prices start at around $76.50 for members and $22.50 for Adult non-members with a concession, if you wish to immerse yourself in the Wildlife experience at your own pace, or take the VIP Tour priced at $135 for Adult members, or $150 for Adult non-members, if you wish to spoil yourself and be guided on a journey of a lifetime.
