Sydney Uni are having a dog day event
Dogs are furry friends in so many families and loved by so many people in the world. Dogs can make a day or actually break a day!
They can bring joy and love and you can do a lot with dogs and take them to many places where you both will have a good time together. They are also so loved by the children who look after them and make sure they are often safe and sound in the house.
Now Pound Paws, in partnership with the University of Sydney Union (USU) are going to bring the dogs through the gates of Sydney University!
Sydney Uni Dog Day will give students and Inner West locals the total opportunity to meet rescue dogs. They will learn from various speakers about the importance of pet adoption. You will also be able to sink beers, and will also enjoy several paw-some pet-related activities throughout the day.
For the children, there will be lots of fun activities planned for you on the day, ranging from:
Dog patting -but you MUST ask the owner first before you pat
And a mini jumping castle for the dogs too
And much more
The educational workshop program for the event will be as follows:
1:30 pm - RSPCA NSW - Responsible Pet Ownership
2.00 pm - Animals Australia Representative Educational Talk
2.30 pm - Sydney University Vet Talk
3:00 pm - Inner West Council - Responsible Pet Ownership Talk
This is gonna be a real tail waggin' event, which is one that you should not miss out on as it will be fun.
ABOUT THE POUND PAWS CHARITY Pound Paws is an Australian charity institution who are focused on getting down the number of deaths of dogs per year. They assist rescue centres and local pounds with the overall adoption access, as well as using modern online technology to re-home some of these pets and educate the Australian public.
They do a lot of of other things and one of their main activities is organising pet adoption events which this function is going to be. They also place pets into temporary foster homes, to save them from death row. This temporary housing will keep the dogs at bay for a while and sometimes people actually keep these pets when they have already homed them for a while.
There is also some very limited parking on the campus and it is strongly recommended that you park in the surrounding suburbs of either Glebe/Forest Lodge/Camperdown or either Redfern.
While the dogs will be generally friendly ones, it is very important that you always keep your dogs on a leash regardless of where you are at this event in the venue.
