Sydney Tramway Museum

The Sydney Tramway Museum in Loftus (map ) is a fun little place to visit for anyone with a penchant for the days of yore. The place is stuffed full of old-time railway and tram memorabilia.

This Saturday (2nd of May) there is an extra good reason to visit. The good folks at the museum are conducting tram trips into the Royal National Park to the National Park Station. There you will be met by a Ranger who will escort you on a guided 1km walk to the Bungoona lookout.

The tram trip will cost just $6 per adult ($4 concession) and the guided walk is free and rated as easy. There is no need to book. Admission to the museum costs $15 and includes the tram ride.

The Tramway Museum is located at the corner of Pitt St and Rawson Parade in Loftus (Sutherland Shire).

The tram trips will start at 10am and the last will leave at 4.15pm. Wear sturdy shoes, hat and sunscreen and remember to bring water and a snack or lunch.

A free vintage bus will also be transporting people from Sutherland Station to the museum.

Why? Interesting museum, a fun tram-ride through the oldest national park in Australia, and a free guided tour by a qualified ranger.
