I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

But not at the end of the world
Relax with good food, drinks and views pre or post theatre at The Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf. The position affords interesting ever changing 270-degree views of the western part of Sydney Harbour. It is located at the end of the Wharf Theatre building and the walk down the long wooden corridor is made interesting by views of Sydney Harbour Bridge, theatre posters on the wall and 'inspirational' signage.
As it is a free seating restaurant there are no table reservations and you are free to sit wherever you like. There are comfortable lounges, bar stools with a view and a variety of tables, most seating four. Enjoy the views from the large windows if you are lucky enough to score a prime position. You will have to drag yourself away to place your order at the bar and a friendly staff member will bring your food to you.
There is a menu to suit different times of the day and the weekday lunch specials offer great value. To pay homage to the various productions they have created stage inspired specials. I certainly enjoyed my What A Coincidence! cocktail. The charcuterie platter was nicely presented and well balanced with a mix of salty, creamy and picked items. The homemade pate was delicious but we would have liked a bit more bread to spread it on. A vegetarian dish of fried cauliflower artichoke, preserved lemon and smoked almonds tasted as good as it looked and was very satisfying. The drinks menu is comprehensive and some very nice wines are available by the glass, they also serve cocktails, beer and spirits.
The Theatre Bar at the End of the Wharf has spaces available for function hire, 50 guests on the small balcony,130 on the large balcony and exclusive hire of the whole venue is available only on Sundays when they are closed to the general public.
