Are you a lover of tea? If you are not, attend this festival and you may well turn into one! If you are, you can taste good old fashioned real tea.

The Sydney Tea Festival is celebrating 5 years!

The Sydney Tea Festival is a celebration of specialty loose leaf tea. It is an interactive experience designed to help people find out and experience specialty tea; encourage and grow a liking for tea through education and showcase quality specialty tea providers.

The tea market will feature many stallholders There will be tea brands with specialty loose leaf tea and tisanes of all styles; food truck purveyors with tempting sweet and savoury treats; food trucks for something more filling to snack on; and ceramic artists and makers of beautiful homewares and teaware.

There will also be a Brew Lounge! In this lounge, you will be able to sit and enjoy that special cup of tea.

Tickets to the tea market are available at the Sydney Tea Festival website, and included with your ticket price is a festival tasting cup, valued at $5.

It will be on from 9.00 am till 4.30 pm on Sunday 19th August, 2018.



Five years, 25,000 tea lovers and 155 stallholders later, The Sydney Tea Festival is back at Carriageworks. Festival-goers will again be spoilt with a range of world-class loose-leaf teas and a new program of workshops, talks and special features. These talks will be hosted by some of Australia's leading specialists.

This will be a bustling tea market where you can wander around looking at all the fascinating 70 or so stalls with your tea tasting cup, to try to find the perfect blend for you!

You will be able to buy some handmade teaware, blend your very own tea at the DIY tea blending station and indulge in some sweet and savoury treats!

New for The Tea Festival in 2018 include:
The Tasting Table - this is an area where tea lovers can join in intimate group tastings with tea purveyors
A tea and food pairing degustation dinner - this will be in honour of the Festival's 5th birthday.

Entry ticket includes tasting cup as mentioned above.
Credit cards are accepted and will incur additional fees.

MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Tasting Cup
This is the cup you will receive with your entry ticket. You can sample tea from different stallholders all day with this porcelain tasting cup.

DIY Tea Blending Station
You can even create, name and pack your own custom tea blend at the DIY Tea Blending Station. The sessions will be on every half an hour from 9.30 am until 3.00 pm.

The Tasting Table
Why not experience an intimate tea tasting in a small group setting in the marketplace! You can make up your own group, or join in with others. Tickets are available before thefestival, online, and spaces are limited. This is on from 9.30 am.

Tea Workshops
Get involved in the world of tea with some of Australia's leading tea specialists. They will host educational talks, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions. Tickets are available before the festival, online.

Tea Talks
These are on from 11.00 am, and if you want to learn all about the history of tea, this is the place to go. You will learn how tea is made; different varieties and basic tips and knowledge for enjoying tea. Tickets are available before the festival, online.

5th Birthday Dinner
AND you can experience a food and tea pairing degustation dinner at Automata in Chippendale. This is one of Sydney's best restaurants, and this is in celebration of the festival's 5th birthday!

Artist Collaboration
Contemporary Australian artist, Elliott Routledge (Elliott Numskull), has done the artwork for this year's festival. He has created a fresh and colourful new look, and his work will be showcased throughout the festival. Elliot is well known for his large-scale, abstract wall murals, as well as having exhibited at galleries across Australia and internationally. He captures the vibrancy, creativity and uniqueness of specialty teas.

Archie Rose Bar
You can celebrate the festival's 5th birthday with the help of the gang at Archie Rose Distilling Co. They are Sydney's leading craft spirits distillery, and you can sip on their celebratory tea-inspired cocktail and sample their handcrafted spirits from 10.00 am.
