Come to something very different - a unique tea festival
The Sydney Tea Festival 2019 is a celebration of specialty loose leaf tea.

This year it will be held on Sunday 18th August 2019 from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm. It will be held at Carriageworks, 245 Wilson Street, Eveleigh.

At this annual festival, you can wander through the tea market and discover some of the best teas around. You'll discover teas and tisanes of all sorts, from all over the world, as you make your way around the market place with a tea tasting cup in your hand. You can buy some hand-made teaware, or just blend your very own tea at the DIY tea blending station. You can also buy something to eat from a food truck, indulge in a sweet treat, or sit down and enjoy a tea cocktail in the Brew Lounge.

There are also workshops, talks and masterclasses, which are hosted by leading specialists. Here you can participate in a tea tasting, learn about tea basics, food pairing, blending and tea ceremonies, or just discover more about the history and the health benefits of tea.

The Sydney Tea Festival is an interactive experience designed to help people discover and experience specialty tea. Organisers hope that this event will encourage and make you passionate for tea through education.

Tea Market
The tea market includes many stallholders, from the boutique to the global, with specialty loose-leaf tea and tisanes of all styles. There will also be ceramic artists and makers of tea-ware, artisan food purveyors, and food trucks. The food trucks will serve you if you want something more substantial to eat! There's also a food area where you can sit and enjoy something to eat.

Tickets to the tea market go on sale in the weeks leading up to the event. Festival tasting cups are included in the ticket price.

This will be on from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Tasting Cup
You can sample tea from different stallholders all day with a porcelain tasting cup, which is included in the entry fee and valued at $5.00.

DIY Tea Blending Station
Here you can create, name and pack your own custom tea blend at the DIY Tea Blending Station! Sessions run every half an hour from 9.30 am until 3.00 pm. There will be a range of teas, herbs, spices and flowers, supplied by the partner, Austral Herbs. A tea blender is on hand to give you advice, and you can take home your packed tea and enjoy. Payment is at the station on entry. Spaces are also limited for this event.

The Tasting Table Masterclasses
Join a tea purveyor for an intimate tea tasting or cupping session at The Tasting Table. This will be held in a designated area of the market place.

It will consist of small group masterclasses, and these are perfect if you'd like to immerse yourself further into the world of tea. Tickets are available online before the festival. Please note that spaces for this event are limited. It will be on from 9.30 am

Tea Workshops and Talks
Get involved in the world of tea with some of Australia's leading tea specialists, as they host educational talks, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions.
