Watching the sun set is one of the most relaxing and beautiful ways to spend your weekend afternoons. As the sun lowers towards the horizon it often omits stunning rays of gold, and creates a beautiful mix of pinks, blues, purples and oranges. This is a glorious sight to behold.
The Australian coast makes a particularly beautiful sunset. Try spending Sunday afternoon watching it from a picnic rug on the beach, such as Paradise Beach on the Pittwater, that hosts sunsets like the one here. Particularly beautiful areas are away from Sydney on the unspoiled coast both North and South. These beaches often have unblocked views of long horizons which make a stunning view.
Or watch the sun set over the Opera house from the Harbour Bridge, a ferry or cruise on the harbour, or from a seat in the Botanical Gardens. Sydney Tower has skywalks available where you can watch the sun set three minutes longer than on ground level. More information is here.
Another great spot to watch the sunset from is the Blue Mountains. Rivers and lakes are also good locations. Any high spot facing West is usually a prime sunset watching location.
Spending time relaxing and watching this glorious aspect of creation is definitely worth doing at the end of your week.
