What Could You Explore in Sydney on Sundays?

Explore Sydney for $2-50 All Day Travel on your Opal Card

Sydney pubic transport offers everyone an amazing $2.50 travel on Sundays with your Opal card. The price is right to visit old haunts or explore further afield. You can take buses, trains or ferries, or all of them, for a full days excursion to a destination of your choice. Word is out and many are already taking advantage of this treat and venturing out for a full day to explore and feel the benefit of a real break from their regular routine.

This Sunday special still leaves Saturdays for those household chores, family obligations and groceries. So invite those close to escape for the day and let your imagination run wild with destinations. Visit regular markets, a festival, a gallery or museum; take a ferry to Luna Park, Darling Harbour or one of the islands; take the train south as it hugs the coastline; or the Blue Mountains for a hike or Devonshire tea; or any of the national parks for a hike and barbeque; crisscross the suburbs by bus to visit old friends or family. The possibilities are only limited by the time it takes to get there, enjoy and return home pleasantly exhausted.

As a big fan of the ferries, Manly is an old favourite but last visit I walked around Circular Quay, the Botanic Gardens and then took the ferry to Watson Bay to explore South Head, something I haven't done for ages. Chips and ice-cream from Doyles – they certainly live up to their reputation - for the return journey completed that relaxed holiday feel.
