Steeped in legend and folklore, St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is as synonymous with Ireland as Guinness, Ronan Keating, leprechauns and shamrocks. His fame includes charming all the snakes out of Ireland and introducing Christianity to its people.

All around the world from Moscow to Singapore, and Boston to Sydney, St Patricks Day is celebrated as a cultural holiday on the 17th of March with festivals and events held during March to honour the day.

Since many Sydneysiders have Irish heritage, the Sydney celebrations are a wonderful day out, especially if you have littlies and it is a great way for all the family to celebrate the Irish culture.

In 2018, the St Patrick's day celebrations have moved to a new location and the St. Patrick's Day Organisation is launching The Green Quarter. It is a family friendly event to be held on Sunday 18 March 2018 at The Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park.
