Summer is the season of Shakespeare performances in both Sydney and Melbourne, and the Bicentennial Park in Glebe is the perfect location to host the for 2012. Definitely one of Sydney's summer event highlights, and 2012 marks the fifth year of this festival.

1. Hamlet:

Hamlet is opening the festival on the 5th of January 2012 at 8pm. Hamlet is an object of universal identification. Hamlet finds challenges in upholding his moral integrity in a corrupt world. One of Shakespeare's classics in line with Romeo and Juliet.



2. The Taming of the Shrew:

The Taming of the Shrew is a reflection of the world we live in, particularly when it comes to gender equality. The first session of this show as part of this festival starts on the 7th of January 2012 at 8pm.

The organisers promise theatrical magic and picnics are encouraged. People with high chairs will be asked to sit at the back. BYO is allowed.

Ticket information:

$29 full, $23 concession and $17 high school students.
No charge for children 12 years and under and people 65 years of age as well as for those with disabilities.

Tickets can also be purchased at the door (cash only) from 7pm on the day of the event.
