Part market, part music festival & part record fair

Sydney's own Rock 'n' Roll & Alternative Market is back in 2018, bigger and better than ever with an outstanding array of stallholders, a massive record fair, dance lessons, an exciting live music line-up on the Manning Bar main-stage, a dedicated dancefloor, DJs upstairs and down, a classic and vintage vehicle display, delicious international food, children's activities and so much more!

It is the ultimate family day out and the one-day event will be taking over the Manning Bar and House, University of Sydney, Camperdown on Sunday 25th February 2018. Doors open at 10.30am.

Sydney Rock 'n' Roll & Alternative Market offers eventgoers a unique shopping experience and a fabulous day out with a truly diverse range of music, retro-inspired and alternative stallholders.

Expect to find fashion galore, including Rock 'n' Roll, Alternative, Vintage, Handmade and Unique Clothing for men, women and children. There will also be Footwear, Jewellery and Accessories to complete your new outfits, plus rare collectables, such as Posters, Cult DVDs, Artwork, Comics, Tikis, Homewares and more.

If you are a vinyl lover, you will be in heaven at The Record Fair, with over 50,000 LPs and 45s to explore. Presented by Revolve Records, Erskineville and Egg Records, Newtown, every genre since the dawn of Rock 'n' Roll will be covered, including Alternative, Punk, Metal, Rockabilly, Blues, Jazz, Country, Reggae, Club and Hip Hop.

Adding to the vibrant festival atmosphere will be a stellar entertainment line-up! Throughout the day catch performances on the main stage at the Manning Bar by:

  • The On and Ons - Launching the vinyl edition of their album "Welcome Aboard" at the market. The On and Ons are a power pop/rock/garage combo with an impeccable pedigree, featuring Glenn Morris (lead vocals, guitar) and his brother Brian (drums), of The Zeros (Aust), who toured Australia and the US in 2012 as members of The Paul Collins Beat with Clyde Bramley (bass ex Hoodoo Gurus) and Jon Roberts (guitar ex The Barbarellas).

  • Spurs for Jesus This will be Spurs' first appearance at the Markets for way too long, we can't wait to have Australia's favourite cowpunks grace our stage once more. A little bit country with big dollops of rock 'n' roll spiced up with rockabilly, gospel, swing, tex mex and more, Spurs love a big shindig and they plan to give us one.

  • A Band Called Twang (QLD) The Sunshine Coast's most in-demand rockabilly cats have been sweeping festival-goers off their feet all around the nation. With an infectious sense of fun, their original repertoire combines rockabilly with blues/Americana, stamped with their own indelible style. This marks the launch of their brand-new album Rootin' Tootin', a follow-up of their critically acclaimed Rockabilly Girl, and it's bound to get this Sydney crowd rootin', tootin', hootin' and hollerin' for more.

  • Cruisin' Deuces - Born out of a love of traditional Honky-tonk, Western Swing and Rockabilly music. Hailing from Sydney's Inner West, the boys blend the southern twang of Telecasters with crying steel guitars and driving bass. The Rev. Dr. Z's (lead guitar) soulful voice and burning solos blend with the mournful wail of the pedal steel and bring the sounds of Texas, Memphis and Nashville to Sydney for a hootenanny you'll never forget.

Plus DJs Rockin' Marc Rondeau and Dr.Rock feature behind the decks upstairs and DJs The Crimplenes and Andy Travers feature in the Tiki Bar courtyard.

If you feel like dancing, bust a groove on the dedicated dancefloor or join the 50s Rock n Roll Dancing Beginners Class between 10.30am and 11.30am. It's just $11 per class, which includes entry to the market. No need to bring a dance partner just plenty of energy and your best dancing shoes! Email Bruce at to register for the class.

If you just want to chill, head to the Tiki Bar Courtyard and enjoy a delicious range of international street food favourites.

Round out the day with a visit to the classic and vintage vehicle display and let the kids have fun with giant games.

The Sydney Rock 'n' Roll & Alternative Market is sure to be a brilliant day out for all! Don't miss it! Entry to the Sydney Rock 'n' Roll & Alternative Market is $6 before 12pm and $8 after 12pm, with kids under 12 FREE. Nowhere else in Sydney offers this much bang for your buck!
