Enjoy cinema amongst the great outdoors
Want a different cinema experience? Then this list is for you! The list below includes outdoor cinemas across Sydney this summer. There will be something for everyone, from blockbusters to rom-coms to thrillers.

1. Westpac OpenAir
When: Sunday, 8th January 2023-21st February 2023
Where: Royal Botanic Gardens, Fleet Steps on Mrs Macquaries Point, Sydney.
Cost: See the website for all ticket pricing
Details: This most scenic outdoor cinema will take over Mrs Macquaries Point and will showcase more than 40 nights of pre-shows, Djs, dining experiences, and a film program featuring blockbusters.

2. Moonlight Cinema
When: Thursday, 5th– 31st January 2023
Where: Centennial Parklands at Belvedere Amphitheatre, Centennial Park (nearest gates to the cinema are Woollahra Gates on Oxford Street)
Cost: Tickets from $18pp
Details: This popular and pet-friendly outdoor cinema returns for another year of newly released blockbusters and beloved classics with a stunning backdrop of Centennial Park. Moonlight Cinema is BYO-friendly, don't forget to pack your picnic hamper. The Cinemas also have a line-up of food trucks and a licensed bar.

3. Sunset Cinema
When: Thursday, 12th January 2023- 4th March 2023
Where: North Sydney Oval, Miller St, North Sydney
Cost: Tickets range between $22-$47pp
Details: North Sydney Oval will transform into a cinema wonderland with cinema screenings and views of the city lights. You can bring your blankets and lawn chairs, hire a bean bag, or splurge on the Tim Tam Lounge Ticket, which includes a reserved bean lounger, a prime viewing area, and bottomless popcorn.

4. Laneway Cinema
When: Wednesday, 11th January 2023-1st March 2023: From 6:30pm (Every Wednesday night)
Where: Atherdon St, The Rocks
Cost: Free
Details: Laneway Cinema offers free Wednesday outdoor movie screenings with bean bags and a cosy setting amongst sandstone buildings and cobbled laneways.

5. Skyline Drive-in
When: All year round
Where: Cricketers Arm Rd, Blacktown
Cost: $35 per vehicle
Details: Skyline Drive-in is the last remaining drive-in movie theatre in Sydney. This popular outdoor cinema experience features a 1950s theme, diner food served by staff in era-appropriate costumes. There are new blockbusters and classic films.

6. Flickerfest
When: Friday, 20th January 2023
Where: Bondi Pavilion, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi
Cost: Single Tickets: $40-$45pp, 3 Session Ticket: $55-$60pp, 10 Session Ticket: $150-$170pp- all other ticket pricing can be found on the website.
Details: Australia's leading short film festival returns to Bondi and will showcase around 200 short films that will screen at the Pavilion for ten days. Films will include the best of Australian and International Shorts, documentaries, opening & closing short films/ceremonies, and more.
