Wowee this is an amazing opportunity to get a backstage view of what has to be Our Most Famous House - The Sydney Opera House.
Sunday 18 October sees the Opera House open it's doors to the public for you to partake in an amazing range of activities. Everyone is welcome from locals, travelers, frequent visitors to kids and adults.
Having never had the chance to go through the Opera House myself, this one is on my to do list!
The main feature of the day is the opportunity to go on a
self-guided backstage tour and discover for yourself all the hidden nooks and crannies of the inside of this much-loved building. You will be able to check out the main stages (perhaps rehearse a song or two!), dressing rooms and the rarely seen behind-the-scenes areas.
There will also be
surprises and performances for everyone to enjoy as you head around your backstage tour.
While exploring take some time to
learn about the building's fascinating history and about the exciting renewal plans that are underway.
And why not finish the day by having lunch, dinner or a drink at one of the many famous
eating and drinking spots in the area.
The Open Day will be held on 18 October 2015 - doors will open at 9.00am with last entry at 3.00pm. As you can imagine there will be a couple of people around on the day so make sure you allow for queuing time.
While you won't need a ticket to get in, please
register to let them know you are coming.
For help on getting there on the day, please refer to transport and travel instructions on the
