The 2000 Olympics left many legacies for us to enjoy in the Homebush Olympic precinct, including the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre which has provided a home for the Australian Tennis Museum since 2005, after moving from White City.
Tennis fans can follow in the footsteps of world class players and take a walk down "Champions Walk" to centre court, as well as watch current players in action, learn about future stars of the game and see some amazing items from the history of tennis.
The museum boasts an extensive library including tennis magazines, programs, reports and books and are able to assist with any tennis research needs.
The museum is open to the public Tuesday & Thursday from 9am until 4pm, or by appointment for groups. They offer curator led tours throughout the year and a special behind the scenes look at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.
Entry to the museum is by a gold coin donation to help cover costs. Prearranged tours start at $5.00 and go up to around $25.00 depending on itinerary. Customised tours can also be arranged on request for groups.
Every year in January the exhibition changes to display new and exciting elements of the collection.
