As Christmas approaches, Sydney comes to light with festive lights and illuminations around the CBD and on some of its most iconic historical buildings.
Lights of Christmas 2014 at St Mary's Cathedral brings the true spirit of Christmas to our city with stunning animated images projected onto the sandstone structure's 75-metre southern facade. Each year the theme has reminded visitors of the Christmas message and this year will be no different. Lights of Christmas runs from 9 December to 25 December, 2014. The performance starts each evening at 7:30pm with a choir performance, the light show beginning just after dusk and continuing until midnight.
Head over to
Sydney Town Hall after sunset and witness its facade coming to life with vivid light projections every evening. The Sydney Town Hall illumination runs from 27 November to 25 December, 2014, starting at 8.30pm each night and running until 1.00am.
From Sydney Town Hall, stroll to
Queen Victoria Building where you can see its stunning three-storey Christmas tree with its amazing lights and decorations.
New in 2014, digital projections will also feature on buildings at the
King Street entrance to Pitt Street Mall, transforming the area into a magical landscape. Make sure you look up - above you'll find a multi-coloured
Christmas Light Forest!
From there, head to
Martin Place which will be alight with reflective banners creating a mirrorball effect and you'll see the special interactive Christmas tree where you can text messages to run along its branches and hear choral performances every night from 6.00 to 8.00pm.
In the spirit of Vivid, you won't be disappointed with the Christmas illuminations bringing Sydney to light at this special time of year.
