September is the month where Sydney celebrates the cultural heart of city, presenting incredible works, ideas, music or performances from some of the best artist of NSW and supporting emerging and early career artists at The Sydney Fringe Festival. It's a celebration of arts!
Even when you have to book tickets for some of the shows, this amazing Festival offers the opportunity to enjoy some of the productions without handing out any money from your pocket.
One of the free Sydney Fringe events that you can attend is 'After Dark' presented by Blackboard Collective, a group of artists invited to take part of one of the Sydney Fringe installations in Newtown from Tuesday 2 September to Sunday 7 September 2014. The purpose is for each artist to express the same topic in their desired art form. Having multiple ways of expression, as photography or painting, the audience will be able to interact with the oeuvre and become part of the whole experience, as well as the individual ones.
In this instance, the visual artists are showcasing the idea of 2 faces on social issues: positive and negative, yin and yang, etc. The audience (meaning you) will reflect be reflected in these situation realising that they are part of it and have been wearing a mask to ignore it.
