Lucky Liverpool. Well, Casula, the surrounding suburbs and Sydney's south-west basically. The 2013 Sydney Film Festival doesn't kick off until the 5th of June but you can see some of the best films screening at the Casula Power House Arts Centre this weekend. For those cinema lovers out west, it's a great opportunity and there are no long commutes into the city and cheap parking (like free).

What's On

The best night to book into is probably opening night gala party this Friday night. Screening will be legendary director Ken Loach's bitter sweet comedy The Angels' Share, which won the Jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival. Free snacks and drinks will be on tap after the movie, all for only $15.00

Also showing over the weekend is Love Is All You Need starring Piece Brosnan and Trine Dyrholm, New Zealand film Maori Boy Genius (followed by traditional Maori Hangi feast), the multi award winning documentary First Position and Valley of Saints, the winner of the audience award at the Sundance Film Festival.

There will also be a several short films shown over the weekend and a free short film workshop on Saturday 9 March at 2pm.
