Awesome activities to see in Spring
sydney running festival
The iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. Your chance to walk or run through this bridge as part of the Sydney Running Festival

Welcome to sensational Spring Sydney. Following on from the top things to do in August, Sydneysiders can get to rejoice in some top quality activities to see in the warmer months.

What shall I do with my dad this Father's Day?

If your dad gets excited about seeing the vintage cars every Australia Day at Macquarie Street, then you should take him to Eastern Creek for the 2012 Muscle Car Masters. He can take a step back in time and be immersed in some retro racing cars from the 50s to the 90s. The 18th Biennale is still going. Family Sunday's at Cockatoo Island would be another worthwhile option. Otherwise, the Strathfield Spring Festival is on. This festival makes way for a great day out for the family with rides, showbags, entertainment and a sports quarters. Racing cars will also delight. The Great Waiters Race is also on at Woolloomooloo Bay Wharf. This event is based on the traditional race from Paris at the beginning of the 20th century. The major prize for the winner of each gender will be rewarded with a return trip to Paris. If you work as a waiter in a restaurant, or you're a hospitality student, you are eligible to enter.

Is the Sydney Fringe Festival on again this year?

Absolutely. One of Sydney's most prominent alternative artistic events. The annual Sydney Fringe Festival covers visual arts, music, film, digital arts, comedy, theatre, musical theatre, circus/physical theatre, dance, cabaret, books, kids and family shows, poetry and special events to name. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.

I want to walk for charity

Then the unique Manly to Manado Walk is something worthy of your consideration. This years iconic Spit Bridge to Manly bush walk is raising funds for over 50 mothers and babies in Indonesia.
Otherwise if you wish to take part in the Sydney Running Festival, the Body and Soul bridge walk would be right up your alley.

I love the beach

The annual kite flying festival is on at Sydney's Bondi Beach on the 9th of September. The festival of the winds. If you don't own a kite you can buy one at this event and participate, otherwise kite making classes are available. Great fun for the family with a different array of kids entertainment options. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.

I am into decorating and improving my home

Better Homes and Gardens live is on again. Just like the popular TV show but live. Recipes, samples and a craft centre are available. Held at the showgrounds, Sydney Olympic Park. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.

I have my dancing shoes on

Then get ready for the Darling Harbour Fiesta. Especially if Latin Dancing is your forte.

What about the kids? Anything else for them?

Held at Eveleigh, the Sydney Children's Festival is great for those kids who love to get messy, and to make one hell of a mess. Further information on this event can be found by clicking here.

There you have it Sydney. Plenty of options to get you out of the house as Spring has sprung. Have an amazing month Sydney, and watch this space for October 2012.
