Sydney's ultimate celebration of the amber fluid is back this October when the city plays host to the third annual Sydney Craft Beer Week. Returning bigger and better than ever, with more events, more venues and more brewers, this year's festival will again feature tap takeovers, food pairings, beer degustations and plenty of boozy parties.
The festivities will kick off with the official Sydney Craft Beer Week Launch Party held in the car park at The Vic On The Park in Enmore. On offer will be 15 stalls of craft beer representing some of Australia's most exciting breweries. There will also be live music and plenty of food to wash down all that ale.
Other highlights of the program include the Beer Mimics Food event at the Welcome Hotel in Rozelle, when some of Australia's best foodies team up with some of Australia's best brewers to make a beer that tastes like a well-known food. Bridge Road Brewers, Murray's Craft Brewing, 4 Pines Brewing and Colonial Brewing will be exhibiting their foodie beers.
Other events worth a look include the American Craft Beer Degustation hosted by Newtown's Miss Peaches; the Ladies High Tea at Harts Pub; the Feral Game of Thrones lunch at the Royal Albert where a medieval banquet (including suckling pig) will be matched to five Feral Brewing beers; and the Time Out Hop-Up which will see a bar pop-up at World Square featuring a selection of Australian craft beers.
