The Sydney Craft and Quilt Fair is back for 2024 at the International Convention Centre in Darling Harbour from the 3rd to the 6th of July. Come along to check out guest artists, workshops, the creative craft hub, make and takes, and a range of quilt show exhibitions. There will be a range of things happening every day, such as a meet and greet with Lucy Godoroja, known as the Button Lady during the launch of her book, All Buttons Great and Small. This event will take place at 2pm on Friday the 5th of July in the seminar room, and you can purchase a copy of the book from Can Do Books at Stand A02.

If you’re always eager to bulk up your stash, the Craft Fair is the place to be. Whether it’s fan favourite items and fabrics, to items you never knew you needed or existed, or finding a new project, there will be something for everyone. Just check out places like Hatched and Patched at Stand D20.

Want to try needle felting, also known as painting, you can find out more at Wild and Woolly, at Stand E34. And if you’re after some traditional fabrics for a special project, head over to African Fabrics Australia at stand A45.

Or, if you want to check out and try your hand at machine embroidery, head over to stand D24 to learn more about software for machine embroidery at Hatch Embroidery by Wilcom. And you’ll find designer Ruby sewing and embroidery machine features at Husqvarna Viking, which will be at stand C15.

Come to Signatur Handknits and Knitting Kits at Stand A21 to grab a knitting project for winter or grab a handmade design.

There are also specials throughout the day, like grabbing a Bargain Bunch Bag with ten products for $20 at Scissorman, which you will find at Stand A01. There will be many demonstrations as well, like the basic jewellery-making demonstrations at Bead Trimming and Craft Co at Stand A05, where you can also get exotic beads.

If you need some new scissors, check out the offset blade scissors and other tools at Tinkering Tools at Stand B21, or find unique and vintage button jewellery at Timeless Treasure Jewellery at Stand D18.

Check out the many make and takes, which you will have to book into – and as bookings are live and filling quickly, make sure you have been able to get in. Whether it’s creating a sculptural felt brooch or radial table mat with Lynn Pavey, learning calligraphy and Akim Cursive Script with Sharon Baker and Patricia Moody or making paper roses and paper dahlias with Jo Neville, there’s sure to be a workshop or make and take for everyone to discover.

You could also head on over to the Creative Craft Hub and learn how to make personalised gifts with Debbie Hatumale-Uy. Debbie will teach you to make these gifts using permanent vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, and direct-to-film crafting techniques. And you’ll also learn how to personalise everything: t-shirts, mugs, wood, leather, and paper, and get the supplies for your next project while there. And you can let your imagination run wild.

Early bird price: $85 gives you entry to the fair for four days, a high tea voucher and a collector’s merchandise bundle.
