Where can you immerse yourself in Japanese culture for a day without even leaving Sydney?
At Auburn Botanic Gardens during the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival, of course.
Spend a day admiring the cherry blossoms, eating gyoza, creating manga, or experiencing shinrin-yoku (forest therapy). It sounds pretty great to me.
There will also be special birthday celebrations at the festival this year as Hello Kitty celebrates her 50th anniversary - who knew?
Here is what is on offer during the festival:
The Cherry Trail – explore and enjoy the sakura (cherry blossoms) in the traditional Japanese gardens and the Insta-worthy Cherry Arbour.
Mt Fuji Torii Gate - adjacent to the food village you will find the iconic Mt Fuji Torii Gate, an ideal location to capture a beautiful photo with the cherry blossoms.
Japanese Food Village – explore the unique tastes of Japan in the pop-up food precinct. On offer will be dishes such as bao buns, mochi doughnuts, ramen, karaage chicken, onigiri, gyoza, Japanese fusion lamingtons, cherry blossom-themed dishes and much more. To see all of the food offerings
