Australia is a land of Big Things. You know, like those enormous kitschy pieces of fruit like the Big Banana and the Big Pineapple. Then there's the oversized animals like the Big Prawn, Big Lobster and Big Merino.
There are more than 150 Big Things scattered around the country. They're more often than not big tourist traps for the unwary traveller.
But what about Sydney? Shouldn't Australia's number one tourist destination have the number one Big Thing?
Of course we have a big bridge and a big shell thing - but they are not the transparently tacky touristy magnets as characterised by the typical Big Thing, although some might disagree.
there was a big yellow dinosaur at somersby that you could see driving to gosford on freeway not sure if its still there, and theres a big lizard over the gate at the reptile park up there too,not exactly sydney but close by
