Turn on the water and something magic happens. It's hard to explain why something so simple, can bring so much happiness to children of all ages. Whether it's bubble bath or a garden hose turned on in the back yard, kids can spend hours splashing and playing.
If you want to step up the fun, take your children to a playground with water features or even a water park. Here are some great places to check out.
Jamberoo Action Park

The ultimate in water fun, Jamberoo Action Park has everything you could possibly need for a fun day of splashing and swimming. Vera's Water Garden The Entrance Road, The Entrance
Vera's Water Garden is a small water park for young children centrally located at the Entrance and near Memorial Park. When the kids are done splashing, there are 2 playgrounds to keep them amused as well as a merry go round, large outdoor chess board and a park with plenty of space to run around.
Located next to Manly Sea Life Sanctuary, these 3 slides provide hours of fun for kids of all ages. Stay for an hour or a whole day and while the kids go up and down, enjoy a quiet coffee or lunch at the café or work on your tan at Manly Cove Beach just a few steps from Manly Water Works.
Planning to take your kids to Monster Skate Park? Then pack their swimsuit as well. You will find this great water fountain across the road from the Skate Park at Cathy Freeman park. Guaranteed to keep children running and splashing for hours. For lunch, take them to one of the cafes or fast food stores nearby.
One of Sydney's largest playgrounds, located in the heart of Darling Harbour features amazing water play areas. Make sure you bring a towel and change of clothes, as you won't be able to keep your kids away from the splashing water.
An awesome park with a great playground, BBQs, plenty of green spaces and a café. Children can splash at the water feature or ride their scooters on the footpath. Bring a picnic and spend the day relaxing while the children play.
This is not exactly a water park, but a number of water fountains located all along Manly Corso. Parents can sit back and relax, while children run through the squirting water or play at a small playground. You will also find plenty of ice cream shops for a treat after a busy day.
