Turn on the water and something magic happens. It's hard to explain why something so simple, can bring so much happiness to children of all ages. Whether it's bubble bath or a garden hose turned on in the back yard, kids can spend hours splashing and playing.

If you want to step up the fun, take your children to a playground with water features or even a water park. Here are some great places to check out.

Jamberoo Action Park

Vera's Water Garden
The Entrance Road, The Entrance

Vera's Water Garden is a small water park for young children centrally located at the Entrance and near Memorial Park. When the kids are done splashing, there are 2 playgrounds to keep them amused as well as a merry go round, large outdoor chess board and a park with plenty of space to run around.

Manly Water Works

Darling Quarter Playground

One of Sydney's largest playgrounds, located in the heart of Darling Harbour features amazing water play areas. Make sure you bring a towel and change of clothes, as you won't be able to keep your kids away from the splashing water.

An awesome park with a great playground, BBQs, plenty of green spaces and a café. Children can splash at the water feature or ride their scooters on the footpath. Bring a picnic and spend the day relaxing while the children play.

This is not exactly a water park, but a number of water fountains located all along Manly Corso. Parents can sit back and relax, while children run through the squirting water or play at a small playground. You will also find plenty of ice cream shops for a treat after a busy day.

Steel park, redfern park, the temporary water park at Moore park EQ

Blacktown show ground one of the best.. (Aka Francis park) accessible by train and public transport.
Also one at nurrungingy picnic ground.
