A sea of blue engulfs the stadium. Passion resonates from the crowd.

People scream. They jump. They laugh. They cry. They bleed Sydney FC. They share all this together in unison, as they go through the highs and lows of their football team's season.

This was a regular scene last season at the Sydney Football Stadium, when crowds of 10,000 Sydneysiders would gather to follow the sky blues through their highs and their lows.

Unfortunately, last season was among the lowest of lows for Sydney FC, but this season promises great things. The arrival of Brett Emerton has piqued interest in the club, while a strong preseason has given the club a boost.

Meanwhile, it's not just Sydney FC that's built up its playing stocks, Melbourne Victory has signed Socceroo superstar Harry Kewell, while other clubs have also lured home Aussies playing in Europe.

The season promises to be the biggest yet in A-League history.
10 teams will do battle over 27 weeks, for a place in the finals series, where they will then play off for the title of A-League champions.

Meanwhile Sydney FC's supporter group, The Cove, will follow the team wherever they go.

The club will no doubt want to better last year's disappointments by any means necessary, but they'll need the help of their loyal fans.

With tickets ranging from $20 to $40 for adults, or $50 for a family of four, a day in the city watching the football is a cheap option for the weekend.

The central location of Moore Park is amazing for public transport, with Central Station just a 15-minute walk away. There are plenty of other things to do, with the Entertainment Quarter 100m down the road.

Sydney FC's first home game is on the 15th of October, when they take on defending champions Brisbane Roar.

Let me put this possible scenario in your head:

The Cove is chanting from Bay 23, harassing the opposition and emphatically professing their love for their city.

"Sydney, Sydney, Sydney said I.
I will stand in Moore Park, 'til the day I die.
Take me to the harbour, way down by the sea.
Where I will follow Sydney, Sydney FC."

Brett Emerton runs down the right wing, charging at the home end of the stadium.

He plays a one-two with Nicky Carle in the centre. Puts in a stepover to beat the left back and pushes the ball wide.

He sends in an early cross to Mark Bridge in the centre, who takes it down with his chest before volleying it past the helpless Brisbane goalkeeper.

The crowd erupts.

Will you be a part of it?
