Any parent will know that often children's entertainment has to be endured, not enjoyed. But the latest offering in the Babies Prom series proves that concerts don't need to be dumbed down for children to squeal with delight.

It's always a treat to head to the Sydney Opera House for any occasion, and a Babies Prom is no exception. Until the 19th of May, Swing Baby, Swing is offering the 2 - 5 year olds a chance to see and dance to live swing music.

The show opens with a clowning performance reminiscent of Donald O'Conner, and ends with tap dancing, which a lot of the little audience are keen to copy. Wayne Scott Kermond charms the audience, regardless of their age.

There is a great example of how a normal song, in this case Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, can be jazzed up in a swing style, and of course, plenty of classic swing standards. As always, when the concerts finish, the kids can get an up close look at the instruments.

These are first class concerts, both educational and enjoyable for adult and child alike.
