Terrigal Beach is a jewel of the Central Coast, home to a gorgeous beach, boutique shops and a range of accommodations near the beach. And there is a wide range of restaurants catering to a range of tastes, budgets, and needs. One of the fancier restaurants is Swells Bar and Restaurant , just above Bellyfish Café, and with exquisite views of the beach from the deck.

Swells Bar and Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday each week and has an a la carte menu for this meal, and for dinner on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, with a separate set dinner menu on Friday and Saturday nights – this menu will be $79 for two courses, and $99 for three courses.

Lunch service is from 12pm until 3pm, and dinner service is from 5.30pm until 9pm – with the bar menu and drinks menu available between these service times. If you’re taking kids to Swells, they do have a kid’s menu available upon request and based on my experience there recently, will do their best to cater to dietary requirements. If you’re staying after the dinner service, you will only be able to order from the drinks menu until they close.

Prices range from about $12-$15 for a side or dessert to $28 up to $135 for an entrée or main, depending on what you order from an array of bread, seafood, meat, vegetarian and other sweet options, and they have gluten-free, dairy free, gluten-free option, dairy free option, vegan and vegan option meals as well – just look for the initials that indicate each on next to each dish, with the additional information at the bottom, which also lets you know about the 10% Sunday Surcharge and the 15% public holiday surcharge.

The meals cover a broad range of tastes as well, ensuring that everyone will find something or be able to request something, especially when you book. Swells advises that people are free to walk in, but to avoid disappointment, they recommend booking online.

There are three ways to get in touch with Swells: a contact form on the main page, linked above, or you can send them an email, or call them – information that is also available on the page and you can ask any questions about your booking, celebration or large group that the website doesn’t answer, and according to the website, they’ll be in touch as soon as they can.

Swells also hosts events, and has a Valentine’s Day event coming up on the 14th of February 2024 – event information is available on the main page.

As fancier restaurants go, this one is a little more intimate and allows you to soak in the atmosphere of Terrigal while you eat. It’s also a bit more relaxed and calmer. However, as it is upstairs, the only way to get there is to go up a curved flight of stairs next to Bellyfish, on the other side of the road to the beach. Keep in mind that Swells shares the area with Accom and Stone Real Estate as well, so some people coming up the stairs will be heading to these businesses during the day. It is a lovely place to eat though, with decent service and food that will make for an enjoyable meal out.

Lunch Service: 12-3pm ~ Dinner Service: 5.30pm-9pm
