Don't Miss Out On This Fabulous Festival
I have just returned from the Swell Sculptures Festival, which is in full flow with only a few days left. In its 12th year it gets bigger and better each time - I have been in the last three years and I think this year's sculptures are certainly my favourite display.
Along the Currumbin Beach there are over 50 sculptures built by local, national and international artists. It is a free exhibition which is open all hours, if you visit after sun down, you will get to see some of the exceptional sculptures lighting up at night.
It runs for 10 days, but finishes on Sunday 21 September, so you must get down there over the next few days. As well as the amazing sculptures, you can enjoy informative artist talks, classes and workshops - learn a new skill from a friendly bunch of talented artists.
Plus make sure you check out the Swell Smalls Gallery, which is located across the road from the middle white information tent. It has a collection of smaller sculptures from the featured artists, many of them, although sold, can be custom made by the artists and the pieces are just incredible.
This year's festival shows such flare, creativity, style and imagination which set against the beautiful Currumbin Beach makes it one of a kind, and a real must see. Every time I visit I feel inspired to get my creativity juices flowing again, and this year is no different, I shall start a sculpture class next month.
Here are some of my favourite sculptures from this year's festival.

This is slightly chilling!
Head down over the next few days to soak up some sculptures in the sun. Ends Sunday 21 September.
