Swell Brewing Co. have been on the scene for almost 10 years. Back then they were brewing their beers in a back shed, but 2019 will see them unveil their brand new digs. While their Golden Ale or New World Lager have been available at a range of bottleshops, pubs and restaurants, their taphouse has been a long time coming. Still a few weeks out from their official opening, Swell will be offering a sneak peek of their new taphouse on Sunday January 27th and Monday 28th with a pre-opening party serving up beers, tunes, sunshine and great food.
Swell was dreamed up by Dan Wright while he travelled the world with a surfboard and snowboard in tow. The brewery found its home at McLaren Vale in the Fleurieu Peninsula, where stretching coastline and chilled out days by the beach meets a love of food and drink amongst rows of vines.
The pre-opening party has been dubbed a pop-up on their own grounds. It's a chance to get a taste of the new brewery and taphouse before they can officially open their doors. Swell will be pouring their brews on the weekend, but there will also be a small selection of other craft beers from the region.
Food comes courtesy of local chef Todd Steele who will serve up a limited menu over the two days. There's a chance you may have tried his food if you've been to your share of weddings or events around the Fleurieu, and if you have tried his food you know it's a big drawcard.
On Sunday you can sit back and listen to the JJJ Hottest 100 countdown, or pop down on the Monday for more beers, bites and relaxed vibes. The weekend will be a casual affair and you can pop down to the pop up any time between 11am and 6pm on either day - no booking are required.
The Swell Brewing Co. taphouse is located at 168 Olivers Road McLaren Vale.
