Tucked away from the main myriad of shops in Bankstown is a continental sweet cafe full of delights that will leave dessert lovers in heaven. Sweet Fantasy Cakes is this heaven's name and I went to see the artwork on their walls and to indulge in some morning tea with my husband. The displays inside entice you to want to buy more than you can devour in one sitting.
My husband was never a big sweets eater but he even had to try more than one piece of sweetness here. We sat outside in the fresh air with our coffee and cakes but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we ended up taking away some of our purchases. We found that whilst our cakes looked very sweet, they were not sickly sweet, and they had a nice balance of ingredients. A big thumbs up.

Found on the corner of East and South Terraces, you can order a variety of cakes for weddings, birthdays, christenings and other special occasions. Novelty cakes as well as every day cakes and slices are available filled with fresh cream, custard and mousse cream. They have mud cakes, cheesecakes flavoured with peanut butter and more, tarts, Swiss rolls, Lebanese baklava, Greek cakes, Black Forest cake, red velvet cake, rainbow layered cake, Profiterole cakes and ice cream cakes. Their own version of Charlotte cake comes in flavours of caramel, peach and white chocolate, to name a few. They have pretty much everything you could imagine and then some.
Fruit is blended into many of their products, such as their flans, gelato and cup desserts. The passionfruit, mango and strawberry mousse cup desserts look divine in addition to their non-fruit counterparts of Tiramisu and chocolate mousse.
Add to the above chocolate éclairs, biscuits and pastries, cheese and spinach pies along with great coffee and cold drinks and you've got a must visit for your next indulgence.
Last but not least the murals are equally sweet in their colours and design, showcasing some of the products. This spray painted work is very detailed and comes from
Blackbook Ink, a company that does many works of art for cafes and restaurants, shops, office spaces, gyms, schools and public spaces. Whether its signage or a logo you need designed, they can help. You can even hire them to do a mural on your children's bedroom walls. Some of their other work can be found in Newtown at Bangkok Bites, La Boca Bar and Grill in the city, Eden Cafe in Zetland and Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park at Matraville.
Many reasons to enjoy this cafe in Sydney's south-west.
