On a rainy and wet spring morning, I decided to bring some sunshine into my day and visit the delightful Sweet Crumbs Patisserie. Sweet Crumbs is located in a charming historic shop front store in Ashgrove West. Owners Brenda and Wayne Lee serve a lovely selection of bespoke cakes and delightful treats for special occasions or just because you deserve it.

The menu has an extensive range of soft centred tea cakes, sweet and savoury muffins and petite tartlets and slices. The honey, pear and almond slice is a fruity combination but for something naughty, the lemon drizzle and mixed berry and sour cream small cakes are delectable. All are a perfect companion to the Campos coffee being served.

Orders can be made between Monday to Friday and the convenient delivery option (for a minimum of 4 per products) is a great time saver. Sweet Crumbs is located opposite Ashgrove State School, making it a handy after school stop for hungry kids or a quiet retreat after the school drop off.
The shop is pretty, very pretty, with chandelier lights and a pink cushioned window box. Outdoor seating of whimsical, white french styled cafe tables and chairs give a sense of European flair with shading provided by a green curbside garden. Mountain views over The Gap are an added bonus giving a feeling of the city being much further away than the actual 6kms.
A doggy bowl at the front of the shop is a welcome sign but for thirsty and hungry pups that is only the beginning to this dog friendly cafe. My chai latte was served with a homemade, star-shaped cinnamon treat for pooch. A sideboard of puppy accessories (many feature pictures of Wayne's 3 white Western Highland Terriers) are terrific.
