sells vintage and vintage inspired fashion and accessories.

Candy Barkey, the owner of , started the business a year ago when she decided to share her growing collection of vintage clothing. She has been a vintage lover since a very young age; unable to resist purchasing precious pieces, even if they didn't fit her.

She started selling her prized possessions on Facebook and also has a website . About six months ago, she set up shop in Bardon and opens it by appointment. It is also available for special events like hens parties – ladies can leisurely look while sipping champagne and nibbling hors d'oeuvres.

Candy says she doesn't op shop but instead prefers to purchase her pieces online from the United States. This ensures that the item is unique and is unlikely to be found anywhere else in Australia.

I popped in to have a peek at her shop on the weekend. The small room is packed with racks of vintage fashion, bright beads, rhinestone rings, kitsch key rings, sparkly hair accessories, and vintage sewing patterns.

Candy also hires out clothing for costume parties or photo shoots. She has a passion for pin up fashion as well. After buying Bettie Page Clothing for years, she now imports the American label for her dedicated fan base.

Candy is, well, a sweetie. After a quick chat it's clear that she's not in business for the money but because she loves vintage and believes in providing the best customer service. Each purchase at includes a cute, calico carry bag with the candy-striped logo.
