Dessert for breakfast, lunch & dinner? Yes, please
Hang on to your ice cream scoops, Brisbane, and dig out the loose pants and expandable waistbands because Brisbane is about to experience its very own festival about everything sacchariferous (looks like we'll be digging out the dictionary, too!). If it's sweet, syrupy, luscious, and loaded with kilojoules you'll be sure to find it at Sweet As - Brisbane Dessert Festival, which is coming in for a rocky road landing at Musgrave Park on Sunday 3 June. Can you think of anywhere you'd rather be?
Dessert for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea AND dinner? It's strictly up to you. Sweet As Brisbane Dessert Festival will run all the way through from 10am to 5pm. It will be a friendly, non-judgemental event where everyone will be united by their common bond; a love of sweet treats. The festival is brought to Brisbane by the World Food Markets , who have a history of successful pop-up foodie events. All the major food groups will be represented: chocolate, caramel, candy, cake and ice cream. You'll be able to sample everything from chocolate to cupcakes, meringues to macarons, and pies to popsicles. Some of Brisbane's best dessert makers will be in attendance and vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free options will be available, too, so no one will be left out.
But the festival isn't all about dreamy desserts. There will also be street food (in the savoury line if all that sweetness is too much for you), live music, activities for the kids, and pop-up bars so you can slake that chocolate-induced thirst. It's a family-friendly festival where kids under 15 can enter FREE. The organisers also have a focus on the environment so BYO refillable water bottle and KeepCup.
