A Paddington-based design studio for cakes, events, and more
"When love and imagination work together, expect a masterpiece." This is the Sweet Art motto. Basically, Sweet Art have a sweet love for creating beautiful things. They love coordinating stylish events. They love decorating immaculate, masterpiece cakes. They love flowers, and also anything wedding.

Sweet Art was founded in Australia in 1980 by Anthea Leonard who at this stage, already had a pretty sweet track record for designing perfectly sculpted cakes for celebrity sets. Having done this for clients such as Barbra Streisand, Elton John, and Olivia Newton John, she knew what she was doing when she brought her scene to Sydney.
Edible design is but one passion of the people here at this boutique. You'll have an array of cake designs to choose from, any of which is sure to make your event even more exquisite - whether that be a birthday, a wedding, or an occasion of some other kind. Personalisation is key here. There does seem to be a floral fetish running through the design studio, with many of the designs also seeming to involve the flawless white icing coat typical of wedding cakes. Cake budget can be between $400 and $1500 depending on how lavish you want to go.
You can get a simple single-level cake, normally atop with some fancy icing accessories like the flowers upon the cake that was ordered for my friend's birthday. You may also order a two or three-storey cake. Also, if you so choose you can have each of these layers decorated with pastel or vibrant coloured icy accessories. These honestly look too good to eat though. Cutting the cake was a slightly sad moment for us in one respect - but the red-velvet cake that had been concealed by the layer of white tasted incredible and so made up for this quickly.
Want an event that is of utmost style, creativity, and beauty? From venue, to theme, to catering and entertainment; Sweet Art ensures professional coordination of your special occasion. Having helped coordinate some pretty large-scale events such as Qantas' 85th birthday, again I point out that they certainly know what they are doing when providing you with their services. Seriously, check out the Qantas event held at Brisbane Airport - Sweet Art was to thank for taking care of all the styling. It looks like the kind of event you would be at, yet completely feel like you are dreaming!
Sweet Art puts 100% into hand-picking and handcrafting all of the details for special events such as weddings, exhibitions and more. They will come up with innovative concept themes to run by you (and most probably win you over with). Then they shall go on to handcraft the ornaments, to source and pick flowers from growers, to intricately design a cake from scratch, and then of course, style and decorate everything to perfection. You can let them know the budget you are looking at for your special event, starting from $15,000.
Stationery design, especially for events, is another sweet love of Sweet Art. They allow you to personally customise how you would like to word such prints as invitations, rsvp cards, guest names, and so forth. Their handmade designer stationery can always be expected to be elegant and tailored to be another memorable part of your event. Enquire on the website for an idea about prices.
Sweet Art promises perfection. It promises imagination, and putting all of their passion into crafting the perfect cake, event, floral arrangement, or stationery set. You can expect them to take a modern, unique, and artistic approach to every design. Last but not least, you can expect attention to be devoted to every detail of the designs.
