SwanSongs is proudly presenting an exciting series of concert events with an incredible line-up of talented artists, accompanied by artistic director and pianist David Wickham.

The events will be held in the intimate surrounds of Christ Church and feature a spectacular programme of classical favourites!

Tickets are now on sale - choose from:

Northern Lights with Alexandra Bak (soprano), Brigitte Heuser (mezzo-soprano), David Wickham (pianist)

Christ Church, cnr Stirling Highway and Queenslea Drive, Claremont (Sunday 9 June, 3pm)

The Northern Lights define most peoples' vision of the Arctic Circle - dazzling displays of atmospheric colours above stark, snowy landscapes. New Zealand-born singer Brigitte Heuser returns in spirit to her former home of far-north Norway, with Alexandra Bak, to present great songs from countries bordering the Circle, Norway, Finland and Russia. Expect music blending finely-drawn simplicity, soaring passion and echoes of folk music, with the clear-sighted vision that comes from those wide landscapes. From Grieg's Norwegian country scenes, to Sibelius's moody and atmospheric music, to a range of wonderful Russian romances by Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov and Shostakovitch, and coloratura delights by Glinka, there is food for heart and mind.

Decadence with Harriet Marshall (soprano) and Ileana Rinaldi (mezzo-piano), David Wickham (pianist)

Christ Church, cnr Stirling Highway and Queenslea Drive, Claremont (Sunday June 16, 3pm)

The second concert in the June season features the opulent voices of Harriet Marshall and Ileana Rinaldi, veterans of many important roles for West Australian Opera, Freeze Frame Opera and with great careers in prospect. Decadence is a programme of grand late-Romantic songs that only a few can sing; Berg, Berlioz, Massenet and Strauss's sublime Four Last Songs. This is vocal luxury, music to get lost in. Harriet and Ileana both have extraordinary voices and performing charisma, and are absolutely in their vocal prime. Perth is lucky to have them these are the calibre of artists one finds in Europe's opera houses.

Melodramas with Gregory Yurisch, accompanied by David Wickham (pianist)

Christ Church, cnr Stirling Highway and Queenslea Drive, Claremont (Sunday 23 June, 3pm)

Legendary baritone Gregory Yurisch returns to the stage in a unique programme of melodramas. The Romantics loved this genre - spoken text over dramatic music, with vivid imagery and high-octane plots. Who better to conjure the best from words and music than Placido Domingo's favourite baritone and master musician Yurisich? Music by Schubert, Poulenc and Richard Strauss.
