Run amuck in the mud - this Mudfest is all about running covered in mud and having fun getting muddier and muddier! And you can even include your fur babies in this, which makes it very tempting for myself and my two darling whippets (except that one is blind and would get extra muddy!)
This Swan Valley Mudfest will have you "climbing, crawling and wading through mud" - lots and lots of mud! There will be heaps of climbing obstacles to test your skills, and a lot of inflatables too.
There will be obstacles of varying difficulties and sizes, all of which will be enhanced and made more fun by a good coat of thick mud. It is perhaps the craziest, zaniest and muddiest obstacle race in Perth and it is all about fun, family, having a good laugh, perhaps even getting fit, getting muddy and doing things you may never have done before.
And what is also good is that your $10 per registration will go straight to the RSPCA WA, so you know you are helping hundreds of animals in need. You could also set up a fundraising page and get people to sponsor your dog's muddy paws!
5 KM COURSE
This will be packed from start to finish with 30, yes thirty, obstacles designed to give everyone a go. The main aim of this event is to enjoy yourself, so the course is designed for all fitness levels - so even if you are not very fit, you can still participate in this unusual event.
The course runs every 30 minutes from 10:00 am until 12 noon, with kids having 30 minutes to do the course as many times as they choose to or as many times as their accompanying adult can handle!
Please note that to prevent congestion each wave is limited to 70 participants, so make sure you book ahead to secure your spot! Ages are 3-8 years, and all children must be accompanied by a parent, however, parents do not need to purchase a ticket.
MUDDY PAWS CHALLENGE
Many of us dog owners know our four-legged pooches sometimes think they're human too, so together with working with the RSPCA, the organisers have ensured that no family member misses out on this event.
Now you and your best pooch friend can be one of the first in Australia to take part in the Muddy Paws Challenge! You and your dog can both dash through the dirt together making this great for giving man's best friend some excitement also.
At the Swan Valley Mudfest there are heaps of fantastic prizes to be won.
FASTEST MUD RUNNER
Do you think you can slide and climb through that mud faster than the next person? There will be a prize for the fastest across the line in the 9 am wave.
So ensure you give your fastest kicks to make sure you have the chance to win! As this event isn't timed, there will be an award for the Fastest Male and Fastest Female across the line for the 9:00 am wave.
There will also be an award for the best dressed for the day, so don't forget to put on those zany clothes or fancy dress to be in the running for a prize - nothing is too crazy.
Please note that all children aged 9 to 14 years must run the whole course with an accompanied registered guardian.
All children aged 15 to 18 must have a parent guardian waiver signed upon registration.
All dogs must run with an 18 plus guardian.
This will be held at Belvoir Estate which is situated in the heart of the Swan Valley - an easy drive from the Perth CBD and Northern Suburbs, but as this is such a unique event, it is worth driving to, even if you live in the Southern suburbs.
The Swan Valley is known for its picturesque vineyards and heritage listed properties, as well as its good food and homemade products, and this setting makes it a perfect venue for the muddy obstacle course!
So bring along your friends, bring your family and have a "muddy good time" at the Swan Valley Mudfest!
