For something a little different from the usual pubs and wineries this spring, why not head up to Brookleigh Estate on the 15th and 16th of October for the 2011 Swan River Horse Trials? From the precision and elegance of dressage on the Saturday, to the thrills and spills of cross-country on Sunday, excitement is guaranteed as the top riders in W.A battle it out in the highest level of Australian eventing on offer.
If it gets a bit warm outside, Stewart's restaurant on the estate will be open for lunch or maybe a glass of wine to cool down and there will be canteen facilities open for the duration of the competition. After the cross-country, the entertainment can be found in the undercover arena, where final placings will be decided in the show-jumping phase. With free entry into Brookleigh and an action-packed program, this is a great spectator sport and an ideal option for a family day out.
