There's something about going out for a hearty brunch that sets the whole day up - especially when the brunch is juicy bacon and tomato, pesto, Spanish onion and melt-in-your-mouth chicken layered upon toasted Turkish bread! Suzette's Caffé located in Burnside offers big breakfasts like this all day until 4pm, so whether you're a late riser or just prefer breakfast for every meal, Suzette will set you up.
This corner caffé has been locally nestled amongst towering trees and old homes offering "a gourmet food haven with a Mediterranean feel and taste" for 35 years. The extensive menu boards are placed over two walls and offer everything from breakfasts of bacon and eggs, to starters of dolmades or hot chips and sauce; through to pastas and risotto, schnitzel and seafood. Suzette also works tirelessly to offer baked pies, pastries and cakes that will have your stomach growling as soon as you walk into the store. The menu is in a highly detailed format on her website too and has lists of the beverages on offer, such as chocochinos, macchiatos, organic coffees and spiders. There is also a selection of wines available, just ask Suzette and she'll cater to your needs with a friendly smile.
The different thing about Suzette's Caffé is that there is an extensive range of products and goods available for sale in the store as well as the foods. You can get your hands on delicate nougats, Turkish bread, cookies and an assortment of teas.
Suzette's Caffé website is first port of call if you want a quick look at an option for lunch, but you can't go past an actual visit to take in the extensive food options, hand-made goods and sweet aromas the caffé itself offers.
Located at 540 Glynburn Road, Burnside, there is ample street parking and indoor as well as outdoor seating for those who prefer alfresco dining. Suzette's Caffé is a stone's throw away from Waterfall Gully, so if you're feeling like you need to fuel up for a hike or need to replenish after you've already been, be sure to drop in on Suzette and she'll take care of you.
I too have heard of the court cases and have vowed to never eat here. I have read the news reports of mould being scraped off food and then served to customers and of food being sold that is years out of date. Ick!! No thanks!
