Learn all about dressing more sustainable, shopping mindfully and tackling common pre-loved shopping stigma, followed by a clothes swap and slight variations over three events in WA in 2022. They're all free events to attend, and all you need to do is register for your free ticket.

Thu 16 Jun 5.30-7pm - Sustainable Fashion Workshop and Clothing Swap at Maylands Public Library, The RISE, 28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands. Register here . Please note, registration for this event will only open on 16 May at 9am.

Ciara Lowe-Thiedeman, a London qualified, award-wining stylist leads the way with her passion for teaching people to do good and feel good while looking good. Get to know and understand your personal style so you can show the world who you are, sustainably. Ciara will teach you how to dress more sustainably, shop mindfully and tackle common pre-loved shopping stigma. Learn to re-wear and repurpose clothing and be sustainably stylish. Be sure to bring along items you no longer wear or tire of and swap them for preloved (new to you) items to refresh your wardrobe. You'll find more details after registration.

Ciara also heads the second event in Bullsbrook, with a program that's suited to adults and young people aged 12 and over. It's an informative presentation followed by an interactive clothes swap yet again. Bring as many or as few items as you like and all types of clothing in good clean condition is accepted. These events are primarily focused on women's clothing, however, racks will be provided for mens and kids clothing as well. Please do not bring shoes and accessories and it goes without saying, no underwear. Please ensure you check your items for stains, holes, missing buttons and zips that don't work.

The last event is a fashion workshop run by eco-fashion designer Mariana Kirova and runs along the same vein. There's also a clothing swap once again. You can also bring in an unwanted item of clothing for advice about reworking it so old becomes new again. Creativity is limited only by the imagination. Come along and learn how to be kind to our planet and save clothing from landfill.
