The Mornington Peninsula Shire proudly presents the 2013 Sustainability Festival at the historic and eco friendly The Briars property in Mt Martha this March.

This free event will take place on Sunday, 17th March and will run from from 10am to 4pm. Throughout the morning and afternoon there will be a host of interactive activities and family friendly entertainment on offer, all of which are centred on promoting sustainable living principles.

Some of the fun 'green' activities one can participate in include the 'Home Harvest Exchange', running from 10am to 11am, where you can swap your excess homegrown veggies and go home with someone else's! Plus there will be an opportunity to purchase a range of locally grown produce, quality handmade crafts and various green products from the market stalls.

There will also be informative demonstrations with leading experts, proving sustainable solutions for your home and garden are attainable and affordable.

Children will also be able to learn about sustainable living principles with the help of ABC TV's Dirtgirl and high energy entertainment from Splash Entertainment. Plus children will have the chance to generate electricity themselves with Future Spark and find out more about alternative energy with the CERES Energy Trailer.

Other kid-friendly events on offer include junior ranger activities, the chance to meet some native Australian animals and face painting.

You can also enjoy a delightful lunch and live music performances from the likes of Cousin Leonard, The Stiletto Sisters, Round House and many more talented local acts.

This event will go ahead rain, hail or shine.
