Free family fun day out, support your community
On the 26th September the Sussex Inlet Rural Fire Brigade will once again host a community Open Day, The theme for 2015 coincides with the statewide 'Get Ready' campaign, The days activities will be hosted at the Sussex Inlet Fire Station in Thomson Street, Sussex Inlet from 9am until 2pm.

The concept of the 'Get Ready' Open Day is to provide the community an opportunity to engage with the brigade and be educated about appropriate levels of preparedness, especially for residents living in a bush fire prone area. The event will provide a unique opportunity to interact with the brigade and experience firsthand the diverse roles and responsibilities of the NSW Rural Fire Service

Many exciting and interesting attractions are planned for the day that includes:
Live fire demonstrations.
A big range of fire trucks.
Free children's jumping castle.
Market stalls.
NSW Police & SES displays.
Live music.
Food from the Men's Shed & Lions Club.
The Smoke House.
Heaps of giveaways for young and old.

The day provides a prefect opportunity for members of the public to explore the idea of becoming a volunteer, volunteers will demonstrate various techniques and equipment of the NSW Rural Fire Service with multiple live fire demonstrations. There will be a Fire Extinguisher & Fire Blanket demo, a Breathing Apparatus Demo & more. You can find more information about becoming a volunteer online
