Usually we arrive early at Sushi Train and don't have to wait.

Arriving at 12.30pm on a weekend is peak hour and meant we had to wait about 30 minutes for a booth. The fact that the kids wanted to keep waiting is testament to their love of the food here.

We have been here several times and the food is always fresh and plentiful. The anticipation of what is coming around on the "train" is half the excitement.

There is a great range of sushi rolls filled with the likes of chicken and avocado, prawns, tuna and mayo etc. There is also nigiri sushi consisting of sliced raw fish on a bed of sushi rice.

Then there are the deep fried offerings - creamy croquettes, calamari, spring rolls. The gyoza are really tasty and we always have a serving or two of those.

Vegetarians are well catered for with a range of tempura veggies. We had the asparagus this time, which I thought were OK, but a little chewy. Last time there were also plates of endame which I loved, but they did not appear this time. If there is something you want but cannot find on the train, the staff are always very obliging.

Dessert is a highlight for the kids and from the moment we sit down, they seek out the tiered jelly and custard cups.
