Lovely seafood
Sushi Hotaru is a relatively new sushi place in the recently renovated Mid City arcade. It is on the same level as Red Silk.

Here there is no service, except to pay and be seated. All the sushi plates are $3 each, but some of the sashimi plates are $7.90. Drinks, desserts and mains cost extra.

You order via touchscreen or you can take from the train. The touchscreen is so slow. It is an Apple iPad.

They have a great range of Japanese green teas and drinks. My iced peach tea (I think about $3.50 or $4) was really nice. It did feel like I was drinking soft drink.

My favourite sushi out of all has to be the scampi. The scampi was really fresh. I also found the best renkon chips in Melbourne. Renkon chips is like normal chips, except made out of lotus vegetable.

I also loved the soft shell crab and the agedashi tofu. These are like what I'd do at home.

Other sushi dishes I had which were not as memorable as these are the tamago, salmon nigiri and inari.

I encourage you to all come and try this place out for its fresh seafood and deep fried items.

"Here there is no service."

This is not true. There's excellent service, Japanese style. Yes, you choose from the sushi train or order via touchscreen. But the staff who serve are very friendly.

ps I've read your other reviews, you're not very good at it.
