Surfing Schools in Sydney

It's easy to forget about 'exercise'. However if you're determined to keep active this year and not turn into a hibernating mole then surf classes are a fun alternative to the gym.

For a city the size of Sydney the beaches and the quality of the surf (for water people of all levels) is second to none, and a plethora of different surf schools dot the coast from Cronulla to Manly leaving no excuses for not trying out one of our most celebrated sporting and recreational past times.

Find the school closest to you:
Cronulla
Maroubra
Bondi
Manly

As you can see online, learning to surf really is for anyone and no matter your age, level of fitness or knowledge of the ocean a class can be allocated to suit your needs with most schools offering courses all year round often with specific classes such as,

Cooperate team building
School holiday
Schools surfing programs
Women's groups
Weekday courses and weekend Programs
Private classes
Elite training
Adult classes and Kids classes.

If you're not too worried about the specifics you can always jump in the deep end and join a regular surf class that will by regulation, (see accredited schools at Surfing Australia) have no more than 8 people per class.

Furthermore to whet your ocean appetite and to get a taste of typical Sydney surf and seaside culture check out Bondi's infamous surf gallery Aqua Bumps and if you want to see the beach live or check the weather in advance, online surf cameras can be found on most major Australian beaches by checking out Swellnet.

Why? Learning to surf is a great way to combine; amusement with exercise and you'll be learning a skill instead of watching your life go by on the treadmill.
So brave the cool season, refresh your horizons with a splash of salt water, a lot of laughs, and impress your mates with your newfound stereotypical Australian sport. And as any decent surfie will tell you, the best surfers are the ones having the most fun!
