Help Kids Are Taking Over Surfers Paradise
Looking for something to entertain the kids this September School Holidays? And, don't want to pay a thing? Then head down to Surfers Paradise Kids Week for free family fun along the beautiful Surfers Paradise Beach and Foreshore.
Previously it's just been a weekend of fun, but this year it has now been extended to a full week of free fun and attractions - celebrating all things kids. There are loads of activities for kids of all ages, with lots and lots to see and do throughout the opening weekend - including a Peppa Pig feature stage show - then continuing attractions and activities throughout the following week. The festival kicks off on the morning of Saturday 20th September and celebrates with a huge firework display at the beach from 7pm.
Hustle and Bustle of the Festival
So what is on offer? Whatever your kids are into there is certainly something that will keep them entertained, as the variety of activities is pretty extensive. You can get the kids involved with balloon twisting, cupcake decorating, story time, face painting, volley ball, character appearances including Barbie and Peppa Pig, a Currumbin Wildlife Show, inflatable attractions, music, live entertainment, animals and fireworks. Yikes, that is a lot of entertainment to tire out, I mean, entertain the children.
Download the full programme here to see times of activities so you don't miss a thing. The programme also has lots of cut out food and drink offers for kids and adults at loads of the fabulous cafés and restaurant throughout Surfers Paradise, it also includes a map of activities and parking information.
Fancy flying through the air with the greatest of ease? Well there will be 40 minute circus classes run by Aerial Angels Circus School, which are FREE for you to attend and try your hand at aerial ring, trapeze, tight rope and hula hoops. Head down to Cavill Mall between 10am and 3pm for on the hour classes. Eek this sounds exciting and also potentially dangerous, I would love to have a go at the trapeze. Are you brave enough?
Throughout the week - Monday 22 to Friday 26 September - there will be a number of themed days including a Lego day, craft day, animal day, music day, and superheroes & fairytale day. These special days together with the continuing attractions and fun from the weekend make up the entertainment from Monday to Friday. Then the festival comes to a close on Friday 26 September with another awesome firework display from 7pm.
Bought to you by Zagames Paradise Resort Gold Coast, the festival is a total kids take over of Surfers Paradise - from the beach and throughout Surfers there will be tonnes of free entertainment for everyone to enjoy. Grab the family or even just some mates, and head down to Surfers Paradise for loads of fun and games by the beach. Plus there are lots of competitions that you can enter, to win a stay at the luxury resort.
I cannot wait to head down there, my daughter is 9 months old and just starting to be into everything, especially Peppa Pig, so I will love to see her reaction when she sees her for real. My 4 year old stepdaughter loves Barbie and crafts so she will love it too. I love living on the Gold Coast as there are so many free things like this to do - with everything so expensive nowadays and having two children, it certainly makes live easier having awesome family fun for free just down the road.
Peppa Pig Live On Stage in Surfers
There is a great atmosphere at the festival - loads of things for kids to see and do, and learn and explore. Along the beachfront there are loads of signs telling you what time everything is on and where it will be.
