Surfers Paradise Beachfront Market takes place weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 4pm - 9pm. Located on the foreshore next to the Surfers Paradise sign, the stalls sit on the strip overlooking the beach.

There's a range of goods for sale. You'll find everything from glass bottle clocks to wooden puzzles, crystals to fresh flowers and a range of clothing stalls. Jewellery was also popular and my girls chose funky headbands from a colourful selection.

There were a few food stalls and one with tomatoes grown up Mount Tamborine, which were delicious. However the focus of the market I'd say was gifty items so it's a good shopping trip if you are looking for presents or just want to treat yourself.

Luke's Reptile Kingdom were there too, offering the opportunity for you to have your picture taken with a snake (you can choose the python if you want) draped around your neck or holding a lizard, as you get up close and personal with some of Australia's reptile characters. The $10 photo was good value for an A4 size.

There was an interesting selection of lighting options at a stall called Shining Star Australia. Sisterhood Sewing is one of my favourites. Their owl cushions and heat packs are gorgeous. I discovered their product at the Miami Marketta recently.

Exquisite hand painted name signs attracted quite a crowd. The letters of your name are formed into the most beautiful, colourful pictures. If you have them framed, they make a wonderful picture for a child's room. We had our names done at The Summer Palace in Beijing on a trip across China. The picture from our trip explains this traditional Chinese Folk Art. It's fascinating to watch the images being painted with deft strokes, using a kind of flat brush. The colours are stunning.

We really enjoyed the market at Surfers it's definitely worth a visit.

With over 100 stalls this is one of the largest of the Gold Coast night markets. So, whether you are a local on an after dinner stroll or a holiday maker on the hunt for souvenirs, stop by the stalls in Surfers and check out the range of unique products.
