I'm not sure if you remember, but the Mooloolaba Collective Markets is also on the 28 May 2017 and usually hold their market at the Mooloolaba State School Oval. But this day is a special exception as the Surf Show and Shine Festival is being held at the Mooloolaba State School Oval and the Collective Markets are temporarily taking up residence on the Mooloolaba Esplanade, next to the Surf Club.

This is the third Surf Show and Shine Festival and is hosted by the Alexandra Headland Rotary Club, aimed at raising money for our country cousins. Kombis and surfboards have always gone hand-in-hand with each other - the kombi is a great surfboard traveller, whether you use a roof rack or transport your beloved surfboard inside the kombi. These have to be two of the greatest icons from the 1960's to 1980's and are both being celebrated at the Surf Show and Shine Festival - a real trip down memory lane.
The Alexandra Headland Rotary Club held the first festival in 2015 with a collection of kombis and surfboards. Subsequently, this illustrious event has grown to incorporate all sorts of styles, ages and conditions of repair with kombis travelling from all over the country to participate in the Surf Show and Shine. Surfboards haven't been forgotten either, with a huge selection of surfboards - new and old - being displayed as well.

This is such a worthy cause - ALL proceeds from the Surf Show and Shine are donated, through Care Outreach, to support the people living in the Outback, who are suffering from one of the worst droughts ever experienced in history. If you're keen on donating to this very deserving cause (just in case you can't make it to the Surf Show and Shine Festival) please click here to make a donation and have the opportunity to go into a draw to win a weekend at Kingscliff in New South Wales.
The Surf Show and Shine is going to be a wonderful day out with a huge variety of food and drink on offer and fantastic displays of truly unique surfboards. There will be plenty of live music and entertainment, stalls and ample to keep the littlies entertained too. Sounds like a fun day out to me!
The Surf Show and Shine is proudly supported by the Sunshine Coast Council's Grants Program. If you're interested to see who else sponsors this wonderful Festival, please click here.
Entry is only $5 for adults and $2 for children!
