Mad March is just around the corner - Adelaide will come alive with nightlife, festivals, and of course the roar of V8 supercars on our Adelaide street circuit. The action of this year's Superloop Adelaide 500 starts on Thursday the 28th of February and runs till Sunday the 3rd of March. This event kicks off the first races on the V8 Supercar calendar with drivers and fans excited for changes to this year's racing schedule and off track changes for a better experience for fans.
This year's Superloop Adelaide 500 is an event not to be missed. Even if cars are not really your thing, there is plenty of other things to see and do, including kids activities, rides, food stalls, various bars, merchandise stalls and three nights of amazing concerts.
Thursday will hold the first twilight practice session and chance to see the new Mustang hitting the circuit. There will be non-stop on-track action, with the race categories this year being, Virgin Australia Supercars, Dunlop Series, Touring Car Masters, Aussie Racing Cars, Porsche Carrera Cup, Audi R8 Cup and Super Utes. The V8 Supercars race one will take place on Saturday at 4.50pm and race two at 3.20 on Sunday.
The after race concerts are going to be huge and have got a new home. The concert zone has been moved closer to the action alongside the Victoria Park Heritage Grandstand. This move will offer more space, more food stalls, bars and shaded seating if you are lucky enough to score yourself a spot in the grandstand. Friday night will see the amazing Amy Shark and Vance Joy. Saturday night is an Australian rock combination of Jet and The Living End and Sunday night will see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers finish off an amazing four days.
The city of Adelaide Family Zone is returning for lots of family fun. The family zone offers free access for all ticket holders including free entertainment, a seating area, food and beverage outlets and activities for kids. Open every day, from 9.30am- 5.00pm, your kids can be included in the NERF Nation Challenge in the outdoor obstacle course, where they can get their face painted and can take the role of their favourite driver with the kids racing simulators.
The old concert oval, the CBC oval will hold a huge rare car display including a classic Ford Roadster, a 1957 Chevrolet and a 1952 Ford Ute. On Saturday at 11.30m and 2.50pm and Sunday at 12.20pm and 1.35pm, you will be able to be a part of a start-up period for your listening pleasure.
