What is Real Life Superheroes Photography?

The clue is in the name, but Real Life Superheroes Photography turns mere mortals into Superheroes, by cleverly manipulating professionally shot images to look as though the subject is in a battle or movie scene. The end result is a stunning piece of artwork to frame and mount on the wall for all to admire.

Real Life Superheroes Photography is a collaboration between Melbourne photographer Sandra of Sandra Lee Photography and digital creative Matthew Cook of MJC Creative Images.

Where do I need to travel to?

You would need to travel to Caulfield for your booked studio session. On the day of your photography session, both Sandra and Mat welcome you into the in-house studio, where you change into your ultra-ego, ready to be captured on camera. Sandra and Mat are friendly and personable, making you feel at ease before and during your photoshoot.

Do I need my own costume?

It depends. Sandra and Mat have a selection of well-known Superheroes outfits for children to borrow for the occasion, but most adults have their own Cosplay outfit to dress in.

How long does a photo session take?

The photography session takes around 45 minutes, allowing enough time to catch the right image to be used in a composition piece. At the start of your appointment, Sandra will run through the process, and show some examples of other clients' photographs that gone through Mat's creative process.

What happens after the photography session?

You wait for the magic to happen! Mat and Sandra choose a couple of images for Mat to work with on the composite. Expect to wait 2-3 weeks for the process, because a lot of detail goes into the final piece.

Once the wait is over, you are invited back into the studio to see the final composite. This is the most exciting part of all, seeing yourself (or your child) as a Real Life Superhero!

At this point, you decide which size and style you would like printed, or discuss any potential changes.

Once you've decided on your size and style, Sandra orders your print, and delivers to you in person once the piece has arrived; another couple of weeks.

When and how can I book in?

Book yourself or your child a studio session with Sandra and Mat via this page. Due to limited availability, you may be looking at weekdays rather than weekends.

FREE Photoshoot when you mention WeekendNotes

Are you ready to transform yourself into a Real Life Superhero? Great! If you mention WeekendNotes when you book, you are entitled to a FREE photoshoot session (usually $150).
