When was the last time you tried to rock out in lycra? If you're like me it was probably in about 1989 when fluorescent bike shorts were in and Collette was singing 'Ring My Bell'.

Well if there was ever a good excuse to break out the lycra - this is it!

The Vasto Club in Balcatta is hosting a Superheroes Ball. What a great theme considering all the superhero remake movies recently.

You'll get plenty of costume ideas by watching The Avengers, Captain America, Green Lantern and The Amazing Spiderman.



Grab your tickets for $50 and you'll get a three buffet dinner.

There will be door prizes and raffles and a best dressed prize for the best superhero or villain costume. You might want to hire something from a fancy dress shop, hit up eBay or check out Spotlight or a toy shop for some supplies.

You can also invent your own superhero because there's a prize for best homemade hero. So crank out the alfoil and empty ice-cream containers and get creative.

May the force be with you and to infinity and beyond - or something like that.
